The ultimate in user-friendly control technology: The new COMAND APS multimedia navigation system Available as an option, the COMAND APS control and display system combines audio, telephone and navigation system control in a single unit. With its newly developed interface, COMAND APS is now more intelligent and user-friendly then ever-despite having considerably extended functionality. The pivoting 7-inch display with new graphic elements and colours is now at the same level as the instrument cluster and is therefore ideally positioned in the driver’s field of vision. COMAND APS can be controlled either via an input array in the centre console or via the controller which falls conveniently to had in front of the armrest. Moreover, all key function can now also be called up by means of a voice recognition function: the destination input section of the navigation system has whole-word recognition capability for all place names and road names, a stored telephone number can be dialed simply by saying the name associated with it and if you wish the system will even read out your SMS messages. Bluetooth functionality Is also intergrated to allow safe hands-free mobile phone operation and the DVD player is compatible not only with video and audio DVDs, but with CDs and MP3 files, too Over 500 MP3 music tracks can be stored on the hard disc of the navigation system.
